Statistics: Business confidence falls in mining, processing in Apr

MOSCOW, May 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s April business confidence index decreased by 1 percentage point on the month in the mining industry and by 0.7 percentage points in the processing industry, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.

“The business confidence index reflecting the generalized state of business activity fell by 1 percentage point in the mining industries as compared with March 2023 to 3%, and stood at 2% in April 2022. In the manufacturing industry, the indicator also contracted and reached 3.4%. In March 2023, it stood at 4.1%,” the service said.

The amount of optimists in evaluation of prospects of the current economic situation was higher than the amount of pessimists in both industries, the service said.
